The grey wire at the top left comes from Bell Canada. That goes into the block, then the CAT5 takes it to my rack. A DSL filter is plugged into that box and plugged into the box on the right. From there, all phone lines are linked. Yes, write it on the joist... you won't remember next year when you need to change something.
